Step 1: Prep Your Ingredients
- Measure out your Rice Krispies cereal and place them in a large mixing bowl.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add peanut butter and stir until smooth.
Step 2: Mix in the Sweetness
- Remove the butter and peanut butter mixture from heat.
- Gradually add powdered sugar, stirring until fully combined. The mixture should be slightly thick but smooth.
Step 3: Combine with Cereal
- Pour the peanut butter mixture over the Rice Krispies.
- Gently fold the cereal until every flake is coated in the sweet, buttery mixture.
Step 4: Form the Balls
- Using your hands (or a small ice cream scoop), form the mixture into bite-sized balls.
- Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Step 5: Optional Chocolate Coating
- Melt chocolate chips in a microwave or over a double boiler.
- Dip each ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Decorate with sprinkles or crushed candy canes while the chocolate is still soft.
Step 6: Chill and Serve
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.
- Serve cold or at room temperature for a sweet, festive treat.
