Honey is one of the oldest and most valued foods for its medicinal properties and unique flavor.
However, it’s common today to find adulterated versions that contain only a small percentage of natural honey mixed with syrups or sugars. Therefore, it’s important to know how to identify if the honey you buy is authentic.

1. Jar Test
Take the jar of honey, shake it gently, and turn it upside down.
Real honey: When stirred, bubbles form and rise slowly, which can take up to two hours to reach the surface due to its density and viscosity.
Fake honey: If the bubbles disappear quickly or don’t appear at all, it’s probably diluted with water or syrup.
